Swedish Pro Jacobson Leads EPT Vilamoura Event

Twenty-four players remained at the end of Day 3 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour Vilamoura event, with Swedish pro Martin Jacobson surging into the lead. Jacobson took the lead from Brandon Cantu, who had the biggest stack in Day 2, and the Swede is looking to double his career earnings with the €467,835 prize for first place.
The 384-player field that started the €5,000 buy-in event pushed the prize pool to an impressive €1,862,400, or $2.4 million. The event is paying 56 places, with the payout ranging from the €467,835 top prize to the minimum payout of €7,263 going to each player who cashes.
As Day 4 action headed toward the bubble for the final table, Jacobson continued to push, staying within striking distance of the lead and looking to make a serious run at the title. When Fabrizio Ascari was knocked out in 10th place, nine players were left in contention for the final eight spots, including:
