Event 12 – Two-day Heads-up Event Gets Underway
After a staggering 24-hour marathon was needed by Eugene “MyRabbiFoo” Katchalov to win the same event last year, PokerStars decided to move to a two-day format this year. Wednesday was Day 1 of Event 12, the $215 No Limit Hold’em 2-day tournament; 2,307 players joined the tournament, with the $461,400 prize pool blowing away the $200K guarantee. 256 places are being paid, a number that was easily reached on Day 1, with only 64 players advancing to Day 2.
Team PokerStars had over 30 players in the event, with David Williams and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier both making it through to Day 2. Plenty of action remains, as the final players will do battle on Thursday for a top prize of $78,438.
