The city of Rosario, Argentina will be the home for final stop on the 2010 PokerStars LAPT. To be held from September 22nd through 26th at the City Centre Casino, players at the event will be looking to keep hometown favorite Jose “Nacho” Barbero from winning his third LAPT title of the season.
The third season of the PokerStars LAPT has been a great success. Tournaments this season have been held in Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica and Uruguay before the Argentina final. Barbero reigned supreme in Brazil and Uruguay, something the field will attempt to prevent in his home country.
The latest tournament was held in Florianopolis, Brazil from August 5th through 8th. Matthias Habernig of Austria used the $2,700 buy-in tournament to break Barbero’s two-tournament win streak and pick up $247,441 of the $995,996 prize pool.
In addition to the main event, the City Centre Casino will be home to a variety of other events. The LAPT Rosario Grand Final will also include a deepstack tournament, an unlimited rebuy event, and a televised high roller challenge. Organizers are expecting a great turnout as poker continues to explode in popularity in Latin America.
The third season of the PokerStars LAPT has continued to build on the tour’s success. Experiencing great events like PokerStars European Poker Tour, Asia Pacific Poker Tour, and North American Poker Tour, the Latin American Poker Tour will look to end its third season on a high note at the Rosario Grand Final.
