Gaming giant Bwin is venturing into new waters via its Bwin Poker and Ongame Network division. The international gaming company announced that it has created a new poker tour called Grand Series of Poker Live, and it will hold European stops during the 2010/2011 season in conjunction with its partners Betsafe, Betsson and RedKings.

The objective of the tour is to create world-class events, starting with four tournaments throughout Europe that offer reasonable buy-ins, multiple side events and excellent poker action. “GSOP Live is different. It is a live tour open to everyone who loves the serious fun of competitive poker. It also showcases Ongame Network’s inclusive approach, as three partners have joined forces with us to launch this exciting network-wide product,” said Martin Lerby, Head of Ongame Network.

Similar to the PokerStars European Poker Tour, the GSOP Live has announced the following events for the upcoming season:

  • GSOP Live Riga, hosted by Betsafe, October 5th through 9th in Riga, Latvia
  • GSOP Live Malta, held by Betsson, November 24th through 28th in St. Julian’s, Malta
  • GSOP Live Budapest, offered by RedKings, February 3rd through 6th in Budapest, Hungary
  • GSOP Live Grand Final, April 13th through 16th in Seville, Spain

The Ongame Network will begin promoting the GSOP Live via qualifiers and satellite tournaments staring in August. The network will guarantee 50 prize packages for each event, giving players on the network the chance to win their way into these exciting new events.
