FTOPS Main Event Falls Victim to the “Kirbynator”Tweet Share
The Full Tilt Online Poker Series concluded yesterday with 4,534 players putting up $600+$40 to take part in the Main Event. The tournament didn’t make the guarantee, so Full Tilt kicked in the $300,000 overlay, meaning that a prize pool of $3 million was on the line for the big showdown.
New Full Tilt pro Annette Obrestad hosted the event, allowing the Norwegian poker phenom to make her debut with the site. She did not cash for the home team, but James Akenhead, Vitalay Lunkin and Scott Clements all did.
In the end, the Main Event fell victim to the “Kirbynator” as he bested the field and took the golden jersey and $325,057.40. Because of a chop among the top five players that guaranteed winnings of at least $200,000 each, runner-up “apalma” and third place “DaHussstla” both took nearly $343,000, topping the winner.
The huge prize pool provided great paydays for all nine players at the final table, with the players and their winning totals as follows:
- Kirbynator – $327,057.40
- apalma – $342,851.96
- DaHussstla – $342,296.75
- KevD213 – $235,118.51
- PNBRAZIL – $213,525.38
- bobcards2 – $99,000
- Shawguysies – $64,500
- JD105off – $45,000
- IceWindX – $31,500
The Full Tilt Online Poker Series XVI wrapped another event, with large turnouts and great poker action taking place. The series is held twice a year and has seen its prize pool grow each time, with XVI offering an impressive $5.1 million in guaranteed money to its participants.
