In major news for the top ten poker provider, the Cake Poker Network is announcing that beta testing is ongoing for a new upgrade to the network’s gaming software. While players not involved in the private beta test still cannot see the software, implementation in the near future appears likely.

Once the private beta testing is complete, a public beta test will be conducted and could include interested players at Cake Poker. Lee Jones, Cake Poker Card Room Manager said, “We are excited to launch the private beta for our new Cake Poker client and to get some further feedback on our efforts.”

The upgrade represents the first major revision at the site since its opening in 2006. Jones says, “We are delighted at the how the client is currently operating and looking forward to being able to offer an improved online poker experience to all our players.”

In the past, players have complained about the current software, citing that it is difficult to navigate and that the setup has no ability to search for particular cash games or tournaments. Nicknamed “Cake Poker Client 2.0”, it is expected to be a tremendous upgrade. A new lobby screen with advanced filters is the first noticeable change, but there is more.

The new package will allow for direct registration from the lobby and satellites for various tournaments will be readily viewable. In addition, upcoming tournaments can be marked on a user calendar, reminders can be set and visual changes such as card back choices, table felt and surroundings have been implemented.

For players who have wanted changes at Cake Poker, the time has come. Once the private beta is complete, players can look to participate in the public beta test and offer suggestions that could help shape the poker room client for the future.

Cake Poker is a total RIP OFF site. I have tried for 1 1/2 mos. to get a cash out. Their customer service people reply to e-mails with “we’re trying” but no funds ever come back to players. Don’t even think about depositing any money here. They are real criminals.
