November Nine Profile – Jason Senti

Entering the World Series of Poker Main Event final table as the short stack, St Louis native Jason Senti is the perfect example of the old saying “just a chip and a chair.” The 25 year-old former electrical engineer and current poker instructor at BlueFire Poker enters poker’s most prestigious tournament with a mere 7.65 million chips, but he is still looking to take home the bracelet and first place of $8,944,138.
Senti is relatively new on the WSOP scene; before his Main Event run, Senti had only one WSOP cash, when he finished 21st in the World Championship of Heads-Up No Limit Hold’em in 2009. His current run will increase his career WSOP earnings substantially, with him earning a minimum of $811,823 should he land in ninth place.
Senti nearly didn’t make it to the final table. On Day 7, he found himself languishing near the bottom, sitting in 69th place of the remaining 78 players. A double up on a full house allowed the young pro to build momentum and power his way to November.
In addition to his work with BlueFire Poker, Senti has been busy on the poker circuit, playing in tournaments around the world. When he is not playing poker, the Minnesota resident sings with the band Minneapolis, adding an interesting footnote to what is becoming a promising poker career.
Although he enters the November Nine as the short stack, the other eight players at the Main Event final table would be best served not to overlook Jason Senti. The young pro is looking to make beautiful music starting on November 6th, as he attempts to take poker’s biggest prize.
