There are some who compare professional online poker players to vampires, the similarity being that they both come out only at night to suck the blood of the unwary before crawling back into their hiding places to sleep during the day while the rest of the world goes forth to do their daily scrabbling for an honest loaf of bread.

Though we readily admit to having met more than a few reptiles along the way, hardly any vampires, and so would like to introduce you to some of the best players you never want sitting across from you on the virtual felt.

Each of these 10 mostly twenty-something-year-old online pros has cashed in for over a million dollars in poker winnings without, at least to our knowledge, ever having sucked one drop of blood from anybodies neck.

What they do have in common is mega-hours of multi-tabling behind them and the ability to make instant reads that are the right choice the majority of the time. Most will admit to being math geeks and suckers for complex puzzles and games, as well as being superb bankroll managers. A high number of them are also college dropouts.

Harrison “gibler321″ Gimbel

The baby of this particular group is 19-year old Harrison Gimbel, who recently made headlines as the youngest player to ever win the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event. He was paid $2.2 million for that win alone, and gained entry by winning $1,000 satellite the day before the PCA began. He dropped out of the University of Alabama to concentrate on playing poker.

Yevgeniy “Jovial Gent” Timoshenko

Next up is Ukrainian born 21-year old Yevgeniy Timoshenko who moved to the Seattle area when he was eight-years-old. He got interested in poker after seeing Chris Moneymaker win the World Series of Poker on television and started playing games with his friends. Timoshenko is one of those rarities who when he made the jump to online play, built his bankroll playing freerolls and consequently never had to make a deposit at an online poker room. He most recent big score was taking down the World Championship Of Online Poker in 2009 for $1,715,200.00.
